- Since 8 January 2025, the new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system for entering the United Kingdom has been in force for certain nationalities outside the European Union.
- From 2 April 2025, most EU citizens wishing to travel to the UK will also need to have an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). EU citizens who are planning to fly after that date will be able to request one from 5 March. Remember to request it well in advance, as it takes about 3 days to get a reply.
- You can find more information about the process and the nationalities to which it applies on the British Government website.
- The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is valid for two years from issue (or until the passport's expiry date if this is earlier than two years) and allows you to travel to the UK during that time for stays under 6 months.
- To apply, you will need to have a valid passport.
In cases where you require an eVisa (which means that an ETA is not required), we advise you to inform the UK Government about the documentation you will use to travel.
Please remember that it is the passenger's sole responsibility to be informed and carry the necessary documentation, so we advise you to check all the information in advance to avoid last-minute issues.
