Travel Documents Required

  • If you have to go through passport control, you must get to the airport early enough.
  • Physical copies of all the documents must be shown.

If you have Spanish nationality...

Destination Documentation
Domestic flights (national) National ID card or passport (expired documents will be accepted)
Driving licence issued in Spain.
Schengen * Valid ID document or passport.
Exception: Spanish citizens travelling to, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany Holland, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Malta, Monaco, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland can travel with a passport that has expired by up to 5 years.
EU/Non-Schengen * Valid passport.
Non-EU/Non-Schengen * Valid passport + visa for destination country if required.

 

If you have Italian nationality...

Destination Documentation
Domestic flights (national) ID document.
Valid passport.
Driving licence with photo.
Sailing licence.
OAP card.
Licence to carry out thermal installations.
Weapons permit.
ID card with photo issued and stamped by the Administration.

Schengen**

Valid ID document or passport.

EU/Non-Schengen**

Valid passport.
Non-EU/Non-Schengen** Valid passport + visa for destination country if required.

Schengen**

Valid ID document or passport.

Exception: citizens of Germany (ID Document expired by up to 1 year), Austria, Belgium, France, Holland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Monaco, Portugal and Switzerland can fly to Spain with a passport that has expired by up to 5 years.

EU/Non-Schengen**

Valid passport.
Domestic flights (national) National ID card or passport (expired documents will be accepted).
Valid residency card issued by a Schengen state.
Driving licence issued in Spain.

Domestic flights (national) Passport* + valid visa if required.
Valid residency card issued by a Schengen state.

Schengen**

Passport* + valid residency card issued by a Schengen state.

Passport* + visa for destination country if required. Both must be valid.

EU/Non-Schengen**

Passport* + valid residency card issued by a Schengen state.

Passport* + visa for destination country if required. Both must be valid.

Non-EU/Non-Schengen** Passport* + visa for destination country if required. Both must be valid.

*NB: The passport validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States, and it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years.

**The following countries are currently part of the Schengen territory:

Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Letonia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Sweden and Switzerland.
