The new Entry/Exit System of the European Union countries (EES), for nationals of third countries, applies from 12 October 2025.
This system, which modernises and simplifies the border control process, is an automated IT tool that registers people from countries outside the European Union, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland, when they travel to European territory for short stays.
