How can you get around from the airport?
  • By taxi: The taxi rank is just outside Schiphol Plaza, a large shopping centre located inside the airport itself. The journey to Amsterdam city centre takes about 30 minutes.
  • By bus: Several bus lines link the airport to the city centre. You can take lines 186, 192, 195, 196, 197, 198, 199 and 370 during the day, and lines 72, 97 and 358 at night.

Lines 300 and 310 correspond to the express bus, which runs to the city centre in around 45 minutes.

There's also a special bus service linking the airport to over 50 hotels in Amsterdam and surrounding area. It's called the Connexxion Airport Hotel Shuttle.

  • By train: The train station is located under Schiphol Plaza. Trains run from there through to Centraal Station in Amsterdam. The journey takes just 15 minutes.

Trains also run to such cities as Utrecht, Haarlem, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Breda and Leiden. The high-speed train (Thalys) stops at the airport on its way to such cites as Paris, Brussels and Antwerp.
