If you are travelling with a wheelchair or mobility aid, remember that you can check in up to two mobility devices free of charge (for example, a wheelchair and a walker, etc.).
Documentation
If your wheelchair or mobility aid has a battery, make sure to check the restrictions on transporting battery-powered wheelchairs and the transport requirements depending on the type of battery.
Remember that you can consult the details of your device, such as battery type, dimensions, weight and how to disconnect the battery, in the manufacturer’s instructions.
At the airport
You must go to the check-in desk to check in your wheelchair or mobility aid and receive assistance, if requested.
If you prefer to keep your own wheelchair or mobility aid until the boarding gate, it will be placed in the hold there at no additional cost.
Please note that some airports have a special metal screening process that wheelchairs must go through. For this reason, assistance is required, as you will need to transfer to an airport wheelchair so that security staff can inspect your device in accordance with the procedures established at that specific airport.
At your destination
Once you arrive at your destination, the airport assistance service will take you to the baggage claim area to collect your wheelchair. If, for specific reasons, you need it upon landing, please let us know so it can be arranged.
