If you are called to serve on an electoral board for an election and you have a trip or airplane tickets already purchased, you have several options:
• If you haven't purchased insurance, you can try to argue before the Electoral Board of your Area (JEZ) that you booked the trip before knowing the election date, providing documentation to support this claim, such as flight or hotel reservations. You can also express the economic harm it would cause you to cancel the trip to attend the electoral board. Although a trip is not expressly considered as an excuse in the law, the JEZ may consider the situation.
• Within a maximum period of 7 days from receiving the summons, you will need to contact the relevant JEZ and request an appointment to submit documentation proving that you have an unavoidable trip.
• If you cannot justify your absence, we offer you the possibility of reimbursing the ticket cost in the form of a flight credit, which can be used for any Vueling destination within 18 months following the approval date, by you or by whomever you decide, as it is not nominal.
• The summons to the electoral board has the same effect as a judicial summons, therefore, it is important to be aware of the required documentation. In addition to the summons, the signature of the board president must be presented, confirming that the obligation has been fulfilled within 30 days following the flight departure date.
• In case you have already started your trip and need to return to fulfill your assignment on the electoral board, we facilitate changing the return flight at no additional cost. It is necessary that you contact us in advance to coordinate the change or receive reimbursement in the form of flight credit so that you can choose the new flight yourself.
