If just thinking about an airport makes you nervous, be sure to read these tips. The journey starts at home, so relax and prepare for your flight.
Check-in and baggage
- Before you fly, select your seat and check in online. You can either print your boarding pass or carry it on your phone.
- Remember it's up to 50% cheaper to add a bag online than at the airport!
Couldn't check in online?
No worries - you can always get your boarding pass free of charge at our check-in desks.
Some airports also have special desks for Premium customers or passengers travelling with our Fly Grande* bundle.
Self-service check-in kiosks
Airports like Barcelona, Paris (ORY) and London (LGW) have self-service check-in kiosks where you can get your boarding pass or print labels for your checked baggage.
Get ready for the journey
- At Vueling, your hand luggage always includes an underseat cabin bag. Depending on the characteristics of your booking or the type or service you have arranged, you will be able to take one or two items on board. You can find more information on our hand luggage page.
- If you're going to check in luggage, we advise you always to carry essential items you're likely to need (such as keys, medication, documentation, etc.) with you, in your hand luggage.
- If you're travelling with valuable items and you pack them in your checked luggage, we advise you to take out full cover insurance.
- Before you leave home, you can check the status of your flight on our website or mobile app.
Security control
- Getting through security quickly also depends on you, so make sure you have everything ready to place in the tray for the scanner.
- Remember, if you're a Premium customer or you've booked our Fly Grande bundle, you can use the Fast Track through security available at certain airports.
- Some airports also have special security checks for passengers flying with children.
Boarding
- We board passengers by rows or groups to speed up the process. Keep an eye on the boarding gate screen and listen for announcements over the PA system to find out the boarding sequence.
- Premium customers, families with children under the age of 2, passengers travelling with our Fly Grande bundle or in a Space One or Space Plus seat, and anyone who has booked Priority Boarding will be the first to board the plane.
- When storing your hand baggage, try to take up as little space as possible so there's room for everyone's bags.
- People whose fare automatically includes priority boarding also board first.
Disembarking
- Let those in front disembark first and try not to block the aisle while getting your things together.
- Remember to check that you haven't left any of your belongings behind!
Connecting flights
- Once the plane has landed, our cabin crew will tell you the boarding gate for your next flight.
- If you have a connecting flight, don't worry about your checked bags: we'll take them off the plane and put them on the next one.
If you made your booking with our Basic, Optima, Family or TimeFlex fares, please check the policy that applies to you. |
